While interpretations of Koolhaas’s “1909 Theorem” take scholars deep into high architecture theory, there remains the simple reading of this drawing that rings valid till this day.
Even with sprouting skyscrapers, statistically we still see suburbia thriving in its sprawl outwards from the city.
It’s difficult to “dream” while not owning a quarter-acre lot but living in a high-density tower. So perhaps we can literally translate the 1909 Theorem?
