It’s time to expand laneway housing to two-family zones in the form of rearyard infill.
Since infill retains the existing house, it’s more affordable and less destructive than duplexing.
New infill houses can be built to a greener standard.
Existing design guidelines make infill all but impossible to build. All that’s required to make infill possible on a typical 33’ RT lot is to make minor revisions to these guidelines.
